Unilever Pruducts for Filipinos

For a lot of Filipinos, Unilever has become a name popularly associated with beauty and health products such as Dove, Lux, Rexona, and ponds philippines. But what is Unilever? Where did it started? Is it a Philippine based company? Actually, Unilever isn’t a Philippine based company, Unilever is a multi-national corporation, formed of Anglo-Dutch parentage that owns many of the world’s consumer product brands in foods, beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products.

Unilever owns more than 400 brands as a result of acquisitions, however, the company focuses on what are called the “billion-dollar brands”, 13 brands which each achieve annual sales in excess of €1 billion. Unilever’s top 25 brands account for more than 70% of sales. Some of its brands, including ponds philippines, are popularly known in the Philippines such as:

• Sunsilk - Sunsilk is the name of a brand of hair care products for women produced by the Unilever group. It was launched in 1954 in the United Kingdom. By 1959, it was available in eighteen different countries worldwide. Currently, Sunsilk products are available in over 50 countries including in the Philippines.
• Dove – Dove is a personal care brand owned by Unilever. Dove is primarily made from synthetic surfactants, as well as some vegetable oil based soap ingredients, such as sodium palm kernelate. Dove is formulated to be pH neutral, with a pH that is usually between 6.5 and 7.5. The product also became popular in the Philippines.
• Lipton – Lipton is one of the world’s best-known and best-selling brands of both hot leaf and ready-to-drink tea currently owned by Unilever. This product was recently introduced in the Philippines but quickly grew popular among the Filipino families.
• Pond’s Cream – Ponds is a brand of beauty and health care products that is produced by the Ponds Institute which is owned by the multinational company Unilever. Unilever have established ponds philippines to offer the brand to Filipinos.
• Knorr – Knorr is a German food and beverage brand owned by the Anglo-Dutch company Unilever that produces dehydrated soup mixes and condiments. Low calorie foods have been produced with a dual-branding of both Knorr and Slimfast, also owned by Unilever.
• Selecta - Selecta is a brand of ice cream and milk sold in the Philippines and also in Australia by Mead Johnson Company, who also made Sustagen and Enfamil. The ice cream brand is co-owned by the Philippines’ RFM Corporation and the food giant Unilever under the subsidiary Unilever RFM Ice Cream, Inc.visit us at http://www.myayala.com.
