1. Wash and towel-dry your hair. Do a quick sweep of your hair with the blow dryer.

2. Divide your hair into sections for working on individually.

Work through each section that you divided individually, always picking your hair up with the comb, then clamping the flat iron near the roots. As you are clamping the hair at the root, begin to pull the hair through all the way to the end. Repeat as necessary.

4. Straightening irons do not guarantee permanently straight hair. Used with straightening creams and relaxers, these irons can encourage a better straight look to the hair. Remember that protection products need to be applied to the hair when straightening the hair with an iron. 5. After finishing off the last section of hair, apply one of the styling products for maximum effect.
